Northwood is an older NW Gainesville community of homes ranging from roughly 800 to 1,900 square feet that were primarily built in the 1970s.

The neighborhood is bordered by 34th Street & 39th Ave, which are both major throughways, so Northwood offers fairly easy access almost anywhere in Gainesville. This provides plenty of opportunities for shopping, dining, and entertainment. 

The area is zoned for Norton Elementary School, Westwood Middle School and Gainesville High School.
