A new student apartment complex is coming to Gainesville.
Landmark Properties, the Atlanta-based company that also built The Standard in 2016, is all set to build Haven 13 on Southwest 13th Street. The construction of the new student apartment complex is going to force the demolition of four Gainesville businesses, including The Sands Motel at 2307 SW 13th St., Habitat For Humanity's thrift store, Carrsmith Auto Repair and CarrSmith German Car and Volvo Specialist.
Upon completion, the new apartment complex will stand four stories tall, and consist of 169 different units, including eight town houses in the rear of the building. Construction is set to begin upon the demolition of the four businesses. The Habitat For Humanity thrift store has already been destroyed; demolition permits for the other three businesses are still pending. The site of the new apartment complex has already been fenced off in preparation for demolition.
The new apartment complex won't have any retail opportunities, but it will feature a 4,800 square foot leasing office.
The Habitat For Humanity thrift store has already begun building a new store at a new location on Sixth Street. The new store promises to be larger, and more convenient, for its shoppers.
