Most people recognize Dr. J. Robert Cade as the inventor of the Gatorade Sports Drink, which he, of course, invented for the Florida Gators athletic teams to help them stay hydrated and replenished with electrolytes while practicing and playing sports. Dr. Cade was also a professor of renal medicine at the University of Florida, amongst many other things. Doctor, Teacher, Inventor, Collector, Pioneer… The Gainesville community can look forward to the Grand Opening of The Cade Museum in Mid 2018 as a tribute to Dr. Cade and an inspiration to visionaries of all ages.
This interactive museum features The Creativity Lab teaches student to use their imagination as an inventor which the museum has deemed “The Cade Way” of teaching and learning. There will also be a “FAB LAB” and other Specialty Programs such as “Living Inventor Series” and “Early Entrepreneur Program” available for more in-depth learning.
The Vision statement of The Cade Museum reads: “Spark creativity and invention. Revolutionize art and science” and we think it sounds like they’re off to a pretty good start. An exciting and inspiring addition to the City of Gainesville.
The Cade Museum welcomes Field Trips but slots book up fast so prepare to plan ahead!
