New jobs are coming to Gainesville, as a new Rural King retail location is set to open this summer. Rural King Supply is based out of Mattoon, Illinois and was founded in 1960. The company has 85 stores all over the country, and is opening new locations, not just in Gainesville, but also in Ocala and Zephyrhills.
The retailer is known as "America's farm and home store," and it offers a variety of products including all types of farm supplies, clothing, housewares, tools, fencing and more.
The Gainesville location alone is expected to hire between 75 and 80 new employees with a mix of both full-time and part-time positions available. There are already job listings posted for management positions on the Rural King website for both the Gainesville and Ocala locations. This should be a great boost to the local economy.
The old Gainesville Sam's Club location on NW 13th Street is where the new Rural King location will be. The scale and set-up of the building were a perfect fit for the company. However, perhaps most importantly for the retailer is the fact that there is a large farm and agricultural community in Gainesville that will greatly benefit from this new retailer, and vice versa. The store will hopefully thrive in this copmmunity.
Stay tuned for the grand opening, which is slated for July 17. For more details and information on this Gainesville development, be sure to read the full article at WUFT.org.
