Butler Plaza's expansion seems endless, with new businesses constantly moving in, and plenty of new restaurants making choosing where to eat on Friday night, or any night, a difficult choice.
For all of you steak lovers out there, there is a new restaurant on the Gainesville dining scene that is creating a bit of a buzz around town. Gainesville's first LongHorn Steakhouse opened this week at 2933 Clark Butler Boulevard, adding yet another major restaurant to Butler Plaza North, which is home to many new businesses including, but certainly not limited to, Aldi Supermarket and Jersey Mike's Subs.
LongHorn has been looking to move to Gainesville for a while, and the opportunity finally presented itself with prime real estate at Butler North. The restaurant serves steaks ranging in price from $12.99 to $45.99 and also serves a variety of other entrées including chicken, baby back ribs, shrimp, salmon, and pork chops, as well as appetizers, soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches. The restaurant also offers a very moderately priced lunch menu.
Furthermore, the new LongHorn Steakhouse will employ approximately 70 to 80 people, creating many new jobs in the Gainesville community.
Other recent restaurant openings in Butler North include Culver's, a Wisconsin-based fast-casual restaurant famous for its ButterBurger and frozen custard. Olive Garden also recently relocated to Butler North in a newer, better space than its previous location.
In addition to these recent openings, there are plenty of other restaurants that will be moving into Butler North soon including 1,000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, Poppo's Taqueria, and Newk's Eatery, which was created by the same founders as those of McAlister's Deli.
