HAECO expansion boosts Lake City economy

December 3, 2016

Lake City is about to get a major economic boost from a big company in the area. HAECO Americas in Lake City will be undergoing a major expansion, creating 400 new jobs in the area and bringing a $2 million dollar capital investment to Columbia County.

HAECO Americas already has a large presence in the city, maintaining the taxiways, parking ramps and engine run-up areas for the Lake City Airport. The company also maintains the FAA-certified control tower, which is staffed by FAA-certified controllers throughout daylight hours, providing all weather operations.

The company is a subsidiary of the HAECO Group, which is one of the largest and most prominent global providers of MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) services for aircrafts. The company also provides aerospace manufacturing products to an array of commercial and government clients as well as private customers.

HAECO Lake City has hangar space totaling over 600,000 sqaure feet and  the company has over 1,300,000 square feet of ramp area. Plus, with Florida as the birthplace of commercial aviation as well as having over 100 public-use airports, the expansion of this company in Lake City is a perfect and logical fit for this Florida town.
