Gainesville women's gym gets million-dollar makeover

November 6, 2016

The Gainesville Health and Fitness Women's Center, which originally opened nearly 35 years ago, has recently been renovated and is now better than ever. The renovation was necessary in order for the gym to keep up with the growing fitness industry. Not only are there aesthetic and functional upgrades, but there will also be new classes offered.

The million-dollar renovation will offer new workout routines in a new studio, plenty of new equipment and a large Queenax system, which is similar to a jungle gym for adults. The gym will also offer classic group classes, such as yoga, step and Zumba. The new facility opened on November 1, and members can join for as little as $13 per week.

The facility is centered on the idea that "nothing is more essential than women supporting one another." This gym, exclusively for women, aims to build strong bodies and strong minds among a strong community of women.

Furthermore, the gym offers free babysitting, a sauna, steam room and whirlpool, locker rooms with showers, vanities and hairdryers, complementary Wi-Fi, convenient parking in Thornebrook Village, and access to the Gainesville Health and Fitness Main Center and Tioga locations.
