Destination: Gainesville

December 28, 2015

Gainesville is finally getting some recognition as a destination city and not just as a college town!

A recent article from the travel section of the Lexington Herald touted Gainesville as an amazing community with “breathtaking parks and a vibrant metropolitan scene,” and it is always nice to see Gainesville get the recognition it deserves.

Nature options abound with plenty of woodland hiking trails over foothills and around lakes, Devil’s Millhopper Geological State Park with its massive sinkhole attraction, and Kanapaha Botanical Gardens just out of the Gainesville’s city limits.

The downtown scene is bustling with eclectic shops and lots of craft beer, as well as a fantastic food scene. There is theater, art and more.
