Housing financial assistance for Alachua County residents

home buyerAlachua County is currently accepting applications for homebuyer down-payment assistance and for rental deposit programs, as well as for home repairs.

Alachua County residents will be able to benefit from the $611,000 of funding from Alachua County’s Growth Management Department, according to the program housing manager.

Applications will be available October 21, and the process will not close.

A maximum of $10,000 is available per household for first-time homebuyers for down-payments and closing costs, or for repairs required to bring a home up to code, and eligibility requirements must be met.

The rental assistance program will provide up to $1,700 for deposits and inspection fees.

Furthermore, funding of $150,000 is available on a reimbursement basis for groups such as Habitat for Humanity.
