Innovation Hub boosts Gainesville's economy

August 6, 2015

innovation hubGainesville’s Innovation Hub has been doing some amazing work since its inception in October 2011. UF's Innovation Hub provides an environment for startup companies that facilitates collaboration and offers access to events and discussions to help members further their business goals.

More than 760 jobs have been created and over $50 million have been drawn in private funds. While 30 companies have “graduated” out of the hub, another 30 are currently there. These companies are still very young, and as they mature they will create more and more jobs.

In addition to the jobs that the Hub creates directly, even more jobs are created in the community for “supporting services like restaurants and dry cleaning.”

The Hub has been great for both Gainesville’s economy and community, and you can read more at gainesville.com.
