gville new butler plazaButler Plaza is expanding and adding Butler Town Center, and new retailers could include Dick’s Sporting Goods, Marshalls and Michael’s.

These would be the first Gainesville locations for Dick’s, a large sporting goods store, and Marshalls, a discount clothing, home goods and accessories store. However, Michael’s craft store already has a Butler Plaza location.

Also expected to open next year as part of the Butler expansion are a Wal-Mart Supercenter, Lowe’s Home Improvement, and Sam’s Club.

Once Wal-Mart and Lowe’s open, the eastern end of the plaza will be demolished to make way for Butler Town Center, which will include smaller shops in a walkable environment.
